Polystyrene A FP (4-Formyl-phenoxyethyl Polystyrene Resin) is a modified polystyrene resin in which the base polymer is functionalized with 4-formyl-phenoxyethyl groups. This functional group consists of a formyl group (-CHO) attached to a phenoxyethyl chain, which in turn is bound to the polystyrene backbone. The formyl group is an aldehyde, a highly reactive moiety known for its ability to undergo a variety of chemical reactions, such as nucleophilic addition, condensation, and covalent bonding with amines, alcohols, and other nucleophilic molecules.
