Poly(tert-butyl methacrylate), atactic is a polymer derived from the monomer tert-butyl methacrylate (tBMA). It is a type of methacrylate polymer known for its high glass transition temperature (Tg) and good solubility in organic solvents. The atactic form of PtBMA refers to a polymer structure where the side groups (tert-butyl groups in this case) are arranged randomly along the polymer backbone, rather than in a regular or stereoregular pattern. Atactic PtBMA can be used as a coating material due to its good film-forming properties. It can be applied to various substrates to provide protective coatings with properties such as weather resistance, chemical resistance, and scratch resistance.
