Description

Propargyl-PEG4-amine is a PEG crosslinker with a propargyl and an amine group on the ends. The amine group readily reacts with activated NHS esters and carboxylic acids under coupling conditions to form stable amide bonds. It can also react with carbonyl groups such as ketone, aldehyde via reductive amination condition. The terminal alkine group reacts with azide-bearing molecules via copper catalyzed Click Chemistry to form a stable triazole linkage. The PEG linker contributes to water solubility and biocompatibility. This is particularly important in applications involving biomolecules or in the development of drug delivery systems.
