Description

Rhod-Tz-NHS is widely used for labeling proteins and peptides with fluorescence. The NHS ester reacts with lysine residues or N-terminal amines, while the tetrazine group enables further bioorthogonal modifications. The NHS ester allows for the conjugation of rhodamine-tetrazine to antibodies, creating fluorescently labeled antibodies that can be used in flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, or Western blotting. Additionally, Rhod-Tz-NHS can be used to create dual-functional probes by first attaching the compound to a biomolecule via the NHS ester, followed by a bioorthogonal reaction with a TCO-modified partner, enabling complex labeling strategies.
