S-Bz-Thiol-Modifier C6-dT (5′-(4,4′-Dimethoxytrityl)-5-[N-(6-(3-benzoylthiopropanoyl)-aminohexyl)- 3-acrylamido]-2′-deoxyuridine / 3′-[(2-cyanoethyl)-(N,N-diisopropyl)]-phosphoramidite) is a modified version of deoxythymidine (dT), where the sulfur atom is substituted with a benzyl group (Bz) and a thiol group. The S-Bz-Thiol-Modifier C6-dT is used to introduce thiol groups into oligonucleotides during synthesis. The thiol group can then participate in various chemical reactions, such as forming disulfide bonds or coupling with other molecules. In addition, thiol groups can be used for cross-linking oligonucleotides to other biomolecules or surfaces. This is useful in creating stable complexes or in the development of biosensors and other bioanalytical tools.
