Description

S-PGA (Poly(glycidyl azide)) is a polymer with azide-functionalized glycidyl units. S-PGA is widely used in propellants and explosive formulations due to the high energy stored in its azide groups. The polymer provides a binding matrix that contributes to the energy release in solid rocket propellants, where it can be combined with oxidizers to create a controlled combustion process. S-PGA can also be used to create reactive polymer coatings for various surfaces. These coatings can be further modified with functional molecules via click chemistry, making them useful in applications such as antifouling surfaces, biosensors, or smart materials with responsive properties.
