Description

Silane-PEG-MAL (Silane-PEG-Maleimide) is a maleimide functional polymer with a terminal silane moiety which allows surface modification via reaction between hydroxyl group and ethoxyl silane. The maleimide group react with thiol between pH 6.5 to 7.5 and useful for PEGylation with protein or other thiol molecules. The silane functional group typically contains a silicon atom bonded to hydroxyl groups (silanol groups) that can react with Silane-PEG-Mal to form stable siloxane bonds. Silane-PEG-Mal can be incorporated into biomaterials or nanoparticles to enable specific conjugation of thiol-containing molecules and improve biocompatibility.
