Description

Silica-Coated Fe3O4 Nanoparticles (Silica-Coated Magnetite Nanoparticle, Silica-Coated Superparamagnetic Nanoparticles) are synthesized by water-in-oil (W/O) microemulsion method from hydrated ferric nitrate, ferrous sulfate precursors and ammonia a precipitating agent with the assistance of Tween-80 and SDS surfactants. The dual-component structure combines the magnetic properties of the iron oxide core with the stability, biocompatibility, and functionalizability of the silica shell. Silica-Coated Fe3O4 Nanoparticles are widely used in drug delivery, MRI and environmental remediation.
