Description

SiR-tetrazine is a fluorescent compound that merges the bright fluorescence of silicon-rhodamine (SiR) dyes with the reactivity of a tetrazine group. SiR is a near-infrared fluorescent dye known for its bright emission, high photostability, and compatibility with live-cell imaging. The incorporation of a silicon atom into the rhodamine framework extends the fluorescence emission into the near-infrared region, making it particularly useful for imaging in biological systems where background fluorescence is minimized. SiR-tetrazine can be employed in super-resolution microscopy techniques, such as STED (Stimulated Emission Depletion) microscopy, due to its high photostability and brightness. This allows for the detailed imaging of subcellular structures beyond the diffraction limit of conventional microscopy. Moreover, the tetrazine group in SiR-tetrazine can be used to target drug delivery systems, such as nanoparticles or antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), to specific cells or tissues. The fluorescence of SiR allows for real-time monitoring of the therapeutic process, ensuring accurate delivery.
