Description

STEALTH Liposomal Doxorubicin HCl (2.0mg/mL), Lyophilized Powder is a formulation of doxorubicin hydrochloride encapsulated in STEALTH liposomes, designed to improve the delivery, efficacy, and safety profile of the chemotherapeutic drug. Doxorubicin is a widely used chemotherapeutic agent that is effective against a broad range of cancers, including breast cancer, ovarian cancer, lung cancer, and leukemias. The STEALTH liposome formulation helps address these limitations by encapsulating doxorubicin within a lipid bilayer that has been modified with a polyethylene glycol (PEG) coating. This PEGylation shields the liposome from immune system recognition, enabling the liposomes to circulate in the bloodstream for a prolonged period, enhancing the delivery of doxorubicin to the tumor site while minimizing systemic exposure and toxicity to normal tissues.
