Description

Sulfo-Cy5 DBCO is a water-soluble linker of Cyanine5 fluorophore. Sulfo-Cy5 is a derivative of Cy5 fluorescent dye modified with sulfonate groups to enhance water solubility. Cy5 is a widely used fluorophore in fluorescence imaging due to its bright emission in the near-infrared (NIR) spectrum, allowing for deep tissue imaging with minimal autofluorescence. DBCO is a reactive group known for its high reactivity in copper-free click chemistry, particularly in copper-free azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) reactions. The bioconjugation via copper-free click chemistry offers a bioorthogonal and efficient method for attaching Sulfo-Cy5 to biomolecules, with advantages such as minimal perturbation of biological systems and high selectivity. The compound enables specific labeling and visualization of biomolecules, providing insights into their localization and dynamics within biological systems.
