Description

Sulfo-NHS-LC-Biotin sodium can be immobilized on sensor surfaces to capture biotinylated molecules in biosensing applications. This is useful in developing diagnostic tools for detecting biomarkers or pathogens. Sulfo-NHS is a water-soluble derivative of NHS that enhances its solubility in aqueous solutions. NHS esters are commonly used in bioconjugation reactions because they react specifically with primary amines (–NH2) at physiological pH to form stable amide bonds. Biotin is a vitamin (Vitamin B7) that binds with very high affinity to avidin and streptavidin proteins. This strong interaction forms the basis for many biochemical assays, purification methods, and detection systems in biotechnology and molecular biology.
