Description

Sulfo-NHS-SS-11-Biotin is widely used to label proteins, peptides, antibodies, and other biomolecules. Sulfo-NHS activates the carboxyl groups (-COOH) on the biomolecule’s surface, and the resulting NHS ester then reacts with primary amines (-NH₂) on lysine residues or with the N-terminus of proteins. The disulfide bond in Sulfo-NHS-SS-biotin allows for reversible binding to cysteine residues under reducing conditions, making it useful for studies requiring controlled release or reversible modification of proteins.
