Description

Surface Reactive Doxorubicin Liposomes-Biotin (PEGylated), Lyophilized Powder is a combination of multiple strategies to optimize the pharmacokinetics and targeting capabilities of doxorubicin, aiming to increase therapeutic efficacy while minimizing systemic toxicity, particularly to the heart and other healthy tissues. The most prominent application of surface-reactive doxorubicin liposomes-biotin (PEGylated) is in targeted cancer therapy. By functionalizing the liposome surface with biotin and targeting ligands, these liposomes can be directed to specific tumor cells that express receptors or antigens, such as HER2, EGFR, or folate receptors. Biotin-functionalized liposomes can also be used to deliver antimicrobial agents (antibiotics, antivirals, antifungals) to specific sites of infection.
