Description

Surface Reactive Doxorubicin Liposomes-Maleimide (PEGylated) (Post-insertion), Lyophilized Powder encapsulates doxorubicin, a chemotherapeutic agent, within a lipid bilayer that improves the drug’s solubility, stability, and controlled release. The addition of maleimide groups on the liposomal surface, achieved via post-insertion techniques, allows for the conjugation of targeting molecules, such as antibodies, peptides, or small ligands, that can guide the liposomes to specific cancer cells. Polyethylene glycol (PEG) chains are incorporated onto the surface of the liposomes to mask the lipid bilayer, reducing immunogenicity and prolonging circulation time by preventing recognition by the mononuclear phagocyte system (MPS).
