Description

TAMRA-PEG4-DBCO is designed for bioorthogonal conjugation with azide-modified molecules through click chemistry reactions. This enables specific and efficient labeling of biomolecules with the TAMRA fluorophore while providing a flexible and hydrophilic PEG linker. TAMRA is a red-emitting fluorescent dye commonly used in biological and biochemical applications. It emits fluorescence when excited with light in the green to blue range. TAMRA is frequently employed for nucleic acid labeling, protein labeling, cellular imaging, and other fluorescence-based assays. DBCO is a cyclooctyne derivative commonly used in bioconjugation reactions, particularly in copper-free click chemistry (strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition, SPAAC). DBCO selectively reacts with azide-functionalized molecules to form stable triazole linkages without the need for copper catalysts, which can be cytotoxic. PEGylation improves the solubility, stability, and pharmacokinetic properties of biomolecules. It can also reduce immunogenicity and nonspecific interactions with biological systems.
