Tanespimycin (17-AAG) Liposomes, Formulation XT28.1, Lyophilized Powder are developed for use in various therapeutic contexts, particularly in oncology. Its applications center around improving the effectiveness of Hsp90 inhibition in cancer therapy while minimizing the adverse effects typically associated with the free drug. The primary application of Tanespimycin (17-AAG) Liposomes, XT28.1, is in the treatment of cancer. By inhibiting Hsp90, XT28.1 disrupts the function of several oncoproteins that are critical for cancer cell survival, including mutant p53, HER2, and BCR-ABL.
