Description

TCO-PEG2-DBCO is designed for use in bioconjugation reactions, where it can selectively and covalently link biomolecules or functional groups via the bioorthogonal click chemistry reaction between TCO and DBCO. TCO is a strained alkene with high reactivity towards tetrazines in the inverse-electron-demand Diels-Alder (IEDDA) reaction. This reaction is bioorthogonal, meaning it proceeds selectively in biological environments without interfering with native biomolecules. TCO serves as one of the reactive groups for bioconjugation. DBCO is another bioorthogonal reactive group that participates in the IEDDA reaction with TCO. It forms a stable triazole linkage with TCO, allowing for covalent conjugation of molecules in a bioorthogonal manner.
