Description

Tetrazine-DBCO (Tz-DBCO) is a chemical compound that combines a tetrazine group with a dibenzocyclooctyne (DBCO) moiety. DBCO (Dibenzocyclooctyne) represents a strained alkyne that participates in bioorthogonal chemistry, notably in copper-free click reactions. DBCO reacts efficiently with azide groups in a strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC) reaction. When coupled with fluorescent dyes, Tetrazine-DBCO can be used for fluorescence imaging of TCO- and azide-modified targets. This is useful in microscopy and flow cytometry. The ability to react with both TCO and azide groups enables multi-labeling approaches, where different biomolecules can be simultaneously tracked using various fluorescent or imaging probes.
