Description

Transferrin, Cy3 Labeled refers to transferrin molecules that have been chemically modified by attaching Cy3 (Cyanine 3) fluorescent dye molecules to them. Transferrin is a glycoprotein found in blood plasma that plays a crucial role in the transport of iron in the body. Cy3-labeled transferrin can be used to investigate the cellular uptake of iron-bound transferrin via transferrin receptors on the cell surface. This is important in understanding how cells acquire essential iron. It can also be used to study its intracellular trafficking pathways, including endocytosis, recycling, and trafficking to cellular compartments such as endosomes and lysosomes.
