Vimentin (139-159)-biotin Peptide (VIM (139-159)-biotin) is a synthetic peptide derived from the vimentin protein, which is a type of intermediate filament protein. Vimentin (139-159) refers to a specific segment of the vimentin protein, spanning residues 139 to 159. Vimentin is an intermediate filament protein involved in maintaining cell structure and integrity. The peptide can be used in Western blotting to detect vimentin or vimentin-related proteins. The biotin tag allows for enhanced detection sensitivity using streptavidin-based systems. In addition, vimentin is often upregulated in cancer cells and is associated with epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT).
