PEG-COOH Modified Upconverting Nanoparticles (PEG-COOH Modified UCNPs) refer to upconverting nanoparticles (UCNPs) that have been surface-modified or functionalized with polyethylene glycol (PEG) molecules containing carboxyl (COOH) groups. PEG-COOH modification allows precise control over the surface chemistry of UCNPs. The carboxyl-terminated PEG chains can serve as linkers to bind other molecules, including drugs, targeting ligands, or imaging agents, to the surface of UCNPs. PEG-COOH Modified UCNPs are frequently used for targeted imaging in biological systems. The COOH groups can be chemically activated or conjugated with targeting ligands, antibodies, or peptides that recognize specific cells or tissues, enabling precise imaging.
