Tetrakis(4-formylphenyl)methane (TFPM, 4,​4′,​4”,​4”’-​methanetetrakis-​benzaldehyde, 4-[tris(4-formylphenyl)methyl]benzaldehyde) is a tetraphenylmethane derivative. It consists of a central carbon atom (methane) bonded to four 4-formylphenyl groups. Each 4-formylphenyl group comprises a benzene ring with a formyl (-CHO) functional group attached to one of its carbon atoms. It has been used in the synthesis of metal-organic frameworks, a class of porous materials with applications in gas storage, catalysis, and separation processes.
