Description

N-Desthiobiotin-N-bis(PEG4-t-butyl ester) s a compound composed of N-desthiobiotin linked to two polyethylene glycol (PEG4) chains, with each PEG4 chain terminated with a t-butyl ester group. It can be used as a biotinylation reagent for labeling biomolecules such as proteins, peptides, or nucleic acids. The t-butyl ester groups protect the carboxylic acid functionalities on the PEG chains until deprotection is performed, allowing controlled biotinylation. Additionally, biotinylated ligands prepared with N-Desthiobiotin-N-bis(PEG4-t-butyl ester) can be used for cell labeling and sorting. The biotin-streptavidin interaction facilitates specific binding of biotinylated ligands to cells expressing avidin or streptavidin receptors, enabling cell isolation or targeting.
