PDLLA-PEG-N3 (Poly(D,L-lactide)-b-poly(ethylene glycol)-azide) can be decorated with targeting ligands, such as antibodies, peptides, or aptamers, to specifically recognize and bind to receptors overexpressed on diseased cells or tissues. By conjugating targeting ligands to the azide functional groups using click chemistry, PDLLA-PEG-N3 can deliver therapeutic payloads selectively to target sites, minimizing systemic toxicity and improving treatment outcomes.
