Carboxyl Modified Dendritic Mesoporous Silica (Carboxylated Dendritic Mesoporous Silica) is a composite material consisting of mesoporous silica nanoparticles functionalized with carboxyl groups and dendritic structures. Mesoporous silica nanoparticles have a high surface area and a network of interconnected pores with diameters typically ranging from 2 to 50 nm. This structure provides a large surface area for functionalization and guest molecule adsorption. Carboxyl groups (-COOH) are functional groups that contain a carbon atom double-bonded to an oxygen atom and single-bonded to a hydroxyl group. These groups can be introduced onto the surface of mesoporous silica nanoparticles to provide functionalization sites for further modification or interaction with other molecules. This compound has various applications in drug delivery, catalysis, sensing, and biomedical imaging, owing to its high surface area, tunable pore size, and functional groups.
