Description

Poly(N,N-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate) is a synthetic polymer composed of repeating units of DMAEMA. The chemical structure of DMAEMA contains a dimethylaminoethyl (DMAE) group, which is a tertiary amine, and a methacrylate group. The tertiary amine groups can be protonated under acidic conditions, resulting in the formation of positively charged ammonium groups along the polymer chain.
